We will rewire the triggered “young” nervous system to be confident and calm  in “adulthood” situations.

This therapy is where magic, science, and soul meet.

I specialize in attachment trauma and somatic connection. Together we will explore the protective younger parts of yourself that once made it their job to keep you safe but are now overactive and often unnecessary in adulthood.

We live in brilliant bodies constantly learning and unlearning.

As we grow, our bodies and minds create rules and behaviors to keep us safe. Problem now is, we're grown up. These rules and protections are outdated and need new jobs. They no longer need to help us when we have the tools to help ourselves.

Together we will create and fine-tune these values-based tools and explore what stories your mind and body have bonded to. These tools will guide your system to be mindfully responsive rather than reactive. We will learn their purpose and find unique ways to redirect their energies into something more productive for the new mature you. In sessions, we will explore the impacts of all areas of your life & systems.

As a Seattle local, I enjoy my time outside of session exploring the natural world. I find groundedness in nature, my morning critter and coffee ritual, live music, intentional wellness and movement, finding humor and beauty in every day moments, spending with my animals, exploring the newness in my favorite parks, & moments on the road.

Why Naturopathy

The Wildwood Approach

An emphasis on...

Holistic Exploration

Exploring wellness in all forms. Pulling from your history of lifestyle and routines to define supports and barriers to your ideal growth.

Diving into impacts of your macro and micro systems, physical wellness, chronic pain, nature, social context, life stressors, family wellness history, role in society, movement, nutrition, & self.

Somatic Connection

At your pace, learning ways of experiencing body-connection through stillness, imagination, and mindfulness states. Utilizing Internal Family Systems parts-work skills & Gendlin Focusing.

Safely strengthening & healing through whole system connection rather than through thought and behavioral changes alone.

Exploring where the body has integrated it's own meanings, memories, rules, and expectations that impact the nervous system.

Behavioral Skills

Thoughtfully exploring the interplay between thoughts and behaviors. Paying attention to the protective traits arising from conscious and subconscious triggers.

Healing through techniques promoting values-based living, distress tolerance, mindfulness, radical acceptance, thought-challenging, emotion regulation, and relationship communication.

Attachment Oriented

Drawing from the basic human need for connection, to be known, and to be safe; exploring your relationship to self, world, & others.

Leaving space for acceptance of and learning the attachment styles of those around you & how to best communicate & receive needs.

Solution-Focused Techniques

Utilizing your strengths, values, & personalized goals to explore methods of 'how' to reach for your ideal outcomes emphasizing more of 'what is working' and less of why the problem exists.

Trauma-Informed Care

Collaborative healing in a curious, safe, relational way honoring your past & present states.

A.R.T. Bundle

This package is for individuals seeking immediate relief from trauma triggers. For those hoping for a one-time reprocessing session rather than ongoing sessions with Wildwood Counseling at this time.

After an ART session, you will remember the details of your memory but lose emotional hold.  The intensity will be diminished or evaporated after one session. During an ART session, you may keep your 'story' private to yourself or invite the therapist to know more. The only thing required is a willingness to explore and disclose current emotions.

No preparation necessary, besides willingness to engage and a desire to release the traumas.

We will utilize bilateral eye movement, imaginative visualization, somatic connection, and talk therapies to decrease impacts to your nervous system as related to past stressors, traumas, losses, relational dynamics, or daily pressures. As an evolutionary protection, our systems hold onto the impacts of memories logically AND somatically. Through ART we will allow the somatic body memory to heal in ways our brain and logic might never allow.

Session Bundle: $300

*You are encouraged to maintain support from other therapists and/or practitioners in the community for best care.*

30 minute Intro Session

The prep session; getting to know each other, exploring themes and triggers, practicing eye movements, exploring supports, & creating a follow-up plan.

We will explore how healing will impact your life and others.

A R T Processing Session

The 90-minute trauma intensive; working together to reprocess the impacts of trauma on your wellbeing.

This session is structured and directive.

30 minute Outtake Session

The follow-up;  we will briefly explore the impacts of ART on your growth and nervous system. This session will be within 2 weeks of your ART intensive.

At this session we may schedule more sessions as needed.

Inspiration

“When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.

And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.”
