Vanessa Daiger, LMHCA

A Holistic, Embodied, Trauma-Informed Approach

Welcome, I am Vanessa Daiger; a Licensed Mental Health Counseling Associate who works with Adults & Teens in Washington State via telehealth. I offer individual sessions and trauma intensives.

We live in brilliant bodies constantly learning and unlearning. As we grow, our bodies and minds create rules and protections to keep us safe. Often times, these rules and protections become outdated and overactive in our adult lives. Through our work together we will explore what stories both your mind and your body have stored. We will learn their purpose and find unique ways to redirect their energies into something more productive for the new adult you.

Wildwood's approach is welcoming & integrative. The therapeutic style is one of acceptance, openness, curiosity, & humor. We will explore the impacts of your life on physical, behavioral, and mental health. Identity is grown through mirrors of connection in relationships and systems. Together we will explore interactions with your world and the meanings you hold within it. Uniqueness and search for authentic self are honored in this collaborative space.

As a Seattle local, mostly I enjoy my time outside of session exploring the natural world. I find groundedness in nature, my morning critter & coffee ritual, live music, intentional wellness and movement, finding humor and beauty in every day moments, time spent with my animals, and exploring the newness in my favorite parks.

Why Naturopathy

The Wildwood Approach

An emphasis on...

Holistic Approach

Exploring wellness in all forms. Pulling from your routines, health history, and lifestyle to define supports and barriers to your ideal growth.

Diving into impacts of your macro and micro systems, physical wellness, chronic pain, nature, social context, life stressors, family wellness history, role in society, movement, nutrition, & self.

Somatic Connection

At your pace, learning ways of experiencing body-connection through stillness, imagination, and mindfulness states. Safely strengthening & healing through whole system connection rather than through thought and behavioral changes alone. Exploring where the body has integrated it's own meanings, memories, rules, and expectations that impact the nervous system.

Behavioral Skills

Thoughtfully exploring the roles, patterns, history, and impacts of experiences on thoughts, emotions & behaviors. Paying attention to the protective traits arising from conscious and subconscious triggers.

Healing through techniques such as; values-based living exercises, distress tolerance skills, mindfulness techniques, emotion regulation practice, and interpersonal communication skills.

Emotion-Focusing &
Attachment Style Exploration

Exploring your relationship to self, world, & others drawing from knowledge based on the basic human need for connection, to be known, and to be safe.

Using attachment-based research to understand and explore the motives of your distinct style of human-to-human connection.

Leaving space for acceptance of and learning the attachment styles of those around you & how to best communicate & receive needs.

Solution-Focused Techniques

Utilizing your strengths, values, & personalized goals to explore methods of 'how' to reach for your ideal outcomes emphasizing more of 'what is working' and less of why the problem exists.

Trauma-Informed Care

Collaborating with you a safe rate to guide healing in a curious, safe, relational way as to honor your past & present states.

A.R.T. Bundle

We will utilize bilateral eye movement techniques, imaginative visualization, somatic connection, and talk therapies to decrease impacts to your nervous system as related to past stressors, traumas, losses, relational dynamics, or daily pressures.

This technique requires no preparation other than willingness to engage and a desire to release the traumas. After an ART session, you will remember the details of your memory, but the emotional hold and intensity will be diminished or evaporated. As an evolutionary protection to learn from our histories, our systems hold onto the impacts of memories logically AND somatically. Through ART we will allow the somatic body memory to heal in ways our brain and logic might never allow.

Session Bundle : $300

50 minute Intro Session

In this session we will get to know each other, explore themes related to memory triggers, practice eye movements, explore daily life supports, & create a follow-up plan for your upcoming ART session. In this session we will explore how healing will impact your life and others.

A R T Processing Session

In this 90-minute trauma intensive session we will work together to reprocess the impacts of trauma on your wellbeing. This session in structured and directive.

30-50 minute Outtake Session

In this brief follow-up session we will explore the impacts of ART on your growth and nervous system. This session will be within 2 weeks of your ART intensive. At this session we may schedule more sessions at your comfort level.

Inspiration

“When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.

And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.”
